Waking Up in Vienna, the City of Dreams

Vienna is known as the City of Dreams for being home to psychologist Sigmund Freud. Vienna is also known as the City of Music, and the very excellent Haus der Musik museum illustrates why, through highlights of the great Viennese composers of classical music like Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Brahms and Mahler.

But Vienna is also a place of palaces and princes, of waltzes and women in Chanel and old men in Armani suits on bicycles on a Sunday afternoon, of cakes, coffeehouses and Klimt’s The Kiss.

The Labyrinth of Budapest

Last time, we left off discussing the theme of movies I loved when I was a kid (and still do) like The Princess Bride. That theme continues here with Labyrinth.

Chances are if you loved The Princess Bride, you also loved Labyrinth. And probably Willow and The Dark Crystal.

I had already had some pretty dorky moments on my trip around the world (see: Rome), so you can imagine my reaction to finding out there is a legitimate historical labyrinth under Castle Hill in Budapest.
