After my first encounter with kangaroos in Australia, I am happy to report that my second encounter was much better because this time around, the kangaroo was 1) alive, 2) eating food out of my hand, and 3) in no danger of becoming my BBQ dinner.
This lazy little grey kangaroo couldn’t be bothered to get up for his snack and remained reclined like a Roman emperor to nibble at the snack pellets. Seeing as these ‘roos lounge around all day in a walk-through enclosure with zillions of tourists eager to offer them some grub, I guess I can understand that they have gotten a bit spoiled for service.
Know what animal at the Australia zoo I did NOT try to feed?
Sidenote: did you know that crocodiles can recognize voices?!
